COLT UPDATE...FUNAKI TAKIN' SNAPS...

2 Days after Colt Brennan suffered a "Mild Concoussion" on Marcus Riley's Devestating Hit in Hawaii's 37-30 Victory over Fresno State...Colt says he feels fine and expects to play this Friday ON THE ROAD against Nevada. However, Brennan was held out of practice today and Kahuku-Grad, Inoke Funaki took most of the snaps at Quarterback. If Brennan is UNABLE to play come friday, the question will be who starts at QB? The Sophomore, Funaki or Junior, Tyler Graunke. Of course, we'll keep you up to date, So Check Back.

2007 Stats:
Tyler Graunke: 44/72 734 Yds. 7 TD's, 5 Interceptions
Inoke Funaki: 10/15 136 Yds. 3 TD's, 0 Interceptions

I would love to see funaki get a shot against Nevada if colt can't play. He has looked so accurate so far this year. With that saulis though I hope colt can make it

how much of that is because funaki played against 2nd/3rd teams though? It would be hard for nevada to scout funaki though i would think

What is the status of Kealoha Pilares? Will we see more of Libre on Friday? And in practice does Funaki spend more time passing or running?

Kealoha Pilares was also practicing today. But the coaching staff has the privilege now of working him back slowly, since Daniel Libre (the most impactful Libre since Nacho) played so effectively. Was it me, or did he remind you of James Fenderson when he stepped in several years ago. Similar scenario.....Fendo played in place of the injured Avion Weaver and despite looking questionable at times in practice, he brought it under the game lights. Libre looks like he could be that kind of guy too.

I love UH Football but I would rather see Colt not play and Hawaii lose than for Colt to go up there and get severley hurt. I feel confident that Graunke/Inoke and the rest of the gang can get a win in Reno. No doubt it will be a tough game but if Hawaii wants BCS respect they need to beat a team like Nevada even if they do;'t have their Star Quarterback.

sorry it took so long to write, just got home from work now. Awesome show today guys! Kanoa, you had me rollin with your "evil knievel" story! You 2 young guns work well together. I wish you guys were on more than just 2 days a week. Get well soon Colt!

I guess Funaki is the next best choice if Colt can't play. But, I don't think Colt will sit so easily. They'll probably have to strap him down on the side lines.

Jim, I think you should get Kanoa a Nintendo Wii for Christmas.

Francis...I feel you on your concern for Colt Brennan. I really do think that the UH Coaching/Medical Staff will make the best decision with Colt's well being in mind. If Colt is unable to play, The team will rally around both Graunke and Funaki. Plus, being around this team as much as I have over the years, I guarentee that these guys would play their hearts out not only to keep their BCS/WAC Dreams alive, but also for their recovering leader.
