'BOWS FALL 73-72 IN SEASON OPENER...


The Bob Nash Era of Rainbow Warrior Basketball opened Tonight with a Heart-Breaking 73-72 Loss to San Diego at The Stan Sheriff Center. Torreros' Center. Gyno Pomare hit one of two free-throws with 2.2 Seconds left in the game. UH had possesion of the ball in the final seconds of the game, before Pomare stole the ball off of Center Stephen Verwers dribble at the 3-point-line. Rainbow Warriors trailed by as many as 14 in the game, but led by Senior Guard Bobby Nash who dropped for a Career-High-Tying 22-Points, took their first lead of the game with 46 seconds remaining. Hawaii opens the season 0-1, and return to action Next Friday against Big-Ten Power, Illinois.

Matt Gibson - Before the game it was announced he will miss an expected 2 weeks (Left Knee)
Jared Dillinger - 14 Points, 3 Assists
Riley Luettgerot - 11 Points, 4 Assists, 7 Rebounds

why did verwers have the ball at the top of the key in the final ticks of the game? I thought Riley Wallace was going to have a stroke. It happened right in front of him.

Nash gave it to him. If anybody is to blame it's Bobby Nash.

verwers shouldn't be getting the ball stripped from him. it's not like the guy came from behind him. But definitely nash should have swung around to get it back.

i'm looking forward to a 3-guard system with gibson, dillinger, and nash...assuming that's what bob has in mind.
