wow! this is a tough one but I have to go with the Little Leaguers.

I still think Whitlock should have won. great call by uncle jim. I vote for Dan Kelly and UH Football 2007

It has to be Dan Kelly's Field Goal. Nothing was bigger than UH Football ever last season.

Its a close call.

Mike's was huge and game difference at the big game. Dan's was huge in a normal game but a part of something bigger a 12-0 season and finally rabbit Hawaii fans supporting the Warriors in the end. Do you pick the game vs. game, or the whole season, or what it meant to the State?

Dan Kelly.

I want to say Dan Kelly becaUSe I[m a huge UH Football fan but I can't ignore a world championship.

for the most part, i feel the same way as j.b. goode, bringing back a world championship is HUGE, and that walk-off was awesome. and i read that june jones had the ewa beach team visit the UH football team after that win.

however.

YOU CAN'T ICE THE ICEMAN! i jumped 10 feet in the air after kelly kicked the game-winner for the second time. total clutch kick. to keep the dream alive! gotta vote for kelly.

I still say Kelly's best play the whole season was the tackle he made against La Tech at the end of the first half to save the touchdown off the blocked kick, so because it was not even his best play of the year. . .I go with

Michael Mamea

My vote is for the "Iceman". He had to do it TWICE!! They didn't tell Mamea to line up and hit it again.

Anonymous said...

^^ that's foolish.
yes Kelly's kick was huge but there is no way it was bigger than a KID hitting a walkoff homerun to win a world title for this state.

1 more for mamea

I think people are forgetting just how huge that ewa beach game was. it was on the front page of the paper for a whole week straight.

Michael Mamea. I believe tha announcer said it best.

"How abnout these kids from Hawaii"

....and Dan Kelly keeps Hawaii's dreams alive!!!

I'm sorry but while the Nevada game wasn't exactly a championship game, it affected the entire state WAY more than anything else.

But Whitlock should just be expedited to the #1 highlight PERIOD!

Michael Mamea's homer.

One thing to consider is how many people actually saw each event? The UH game was on ESPN2, and probably watched my many people here. The Ewa Beach game was on KITV and probably watched by many more people here but also many on the mainland. You have to go with Michael Memea's homer! (It would of been harder to pick if Whitlock was still in)

Mamea.

No brainer: UH Football highlight of great ending to a game from greatest single UH football season ever.

Dan Kelly.

Not taking anything away from Mamea, but I think the hands-down winner of this one has got to be Dan Kelly field goal.

the world championship was only for little league baseball. sorry, I'll take a great UH Division I football highlight over little league highlight any day.
